The Writer's Right

Sex and the City

I saw this movie tonight -, two thumbs up!!!

First off, I MISS this show so much. I was so bummed when the season finale was over. I just think the show is really well done, and while not everyone has a crazy life like these New York girls, the trials and tribulations they face in the search for love can hit home for most.

It was odd seeing this movie from a different perspective. When I watched it on t.v., I was single, so I had one view of love. Now, being in a relationship, I have a whole new view on how couples and love works. It was rather refreshing.

Secondly, in keeping with the theme of the show - the four ladies connecting as friends - I went with some friends. I used to work with a good crew at my old job and I miss some of them terribly. Tonight some of us got together. We did dinner and cocktails first (yes, I did have a Cosmo, don’t hate). And we laughed our butts off.

Guys, girls really do talk like the ladies in Sex and the City. We tell it to each other like it is. It’s not like this with everyone in your circle of friends, but when you get with a bunch you trust and connect with, it’s just comfy conversation. And funny when stories are told.

The dinner was good and the company was even better. And we plan to get together again, to watch the seasons, as one of my friends hadn’t ever watched it. But she loved the movie.

So it was a perfect night. And while I’m sure you’re sick of hearing this (eh hem, Liann), it was also nice to come home to Jeff, who was happy to see me. I got a big grin and a nice kiss. Unfortunately he had to rush off to work, but just having 20 minutes with him was great.
